In October 2008 Lee and Jo co-founded U-gro out of their passion for growing their own produce. 

"We started with an allotment about 5 years ago, around the time that our first child, Macy, was born. We believed at the time, and even more so now, that growing your own fresh food would be healthier for our children, and the environment, and would hopefully teach them to do the same as they get older and, in turn, pass this enthusiasm down to their children.

Out of this passion we decided to start U Gro and help champion the cause for "growing your own". Celebrity chef's such as Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearney-Whittingstall and Nigel Slater have helped raise the public awareness to the current heights of the "grow your own" phenomenom. Allotment waiting times have never been as long as they are today.  

With this in mind we created a new and very friendly manufacturing company that produces beautifully designed contemporary "Grow Your Own" seed kits for those interested in growing at home or for those just looking to start somewhere. We are a small and young company that strive, and pride themselves, on providing a friendly and efficient service to all our customers. We are a company that continues to grow through success. With that growth comes new ideas and products. We have an exciting release schedule planned for 2010 and 2011 where we will strive to increase our range with exciting new releases."
